If women are given the priesthood...

What will the reasoning be for keeping it from them for so long? WIll they make up a story about them being less faithful in the pre-existence like they did with black people?

If it happens, they'll simply claim that it's part of continuing revelation and use it to show how progressive and connected to God's will they are.

I don't think they ever will give women the priesthood...

...if they do, it'll be some watered-down version with a different name, intended solely to placate, and still under the supervision/jurisdiction of males.
