My family likes to do Passover at Eastertime. I think it's fun, and the food is dang good, but the more we do it the more the sheer nonsense of the whole backstory bugs me. Then I realized that really, to boil it down to one concept, it's freedom from bondage. Now that's a good goal! So, since this is the first Easter since openly rejecting the Church, I will celebrate my newfound freedom from spiritual, mental, and emotional bondage.

I may not tell my family that though...

We are going to spend this first easter away from church with new friends. We are going to do an egg hunt because it's fun and then we are going to have a big meal eaten in the backyard. It is going to be fantastic.

I look at Easter as springtime and new beginnings. Its a good time to start things that you want to grow that you can harvest in the fall.

Exactly! For us it will be our first non-religious easter and I am looking forward to it.

We don't do anything for Easter anymore. My sister has kids, so they get an egg hunt, but that's it. We don't have a family dinner anymore.

This year her family will be vacationing in St. Lucia, so she's going to take some eggs to hide with her. I said, "Won't they melt?" We'll see how that goes. LOL

I just saw a poll on our local news website. The question was, "Do you celebrate Easter?"

64.16% said, "Yes."

35.84% said, "No."
