Meb Keflezighi has won the Boston Marathon, the first American to do so since 1983. Time to buy some Sketchers!


The bigger story was in the women's field. Shalane Flanagan set a torrid pace that at one point was 2min40sec under the course record. Sadly, she couldn't hang on (but did hang on for 7th place and a PB).

Congratulations to Rita Jeptoo for repeating a Boston win AND setting a course record. Deba Buzenesh also beat the course record for 2nd place. They should send Flanagan some flowers for setting such a record breaking pace early on.

Lanni Marchant, who broke a decades long Canadian Marathon record last year, came in the top 15, in 14th place. Way to go, Lanni!

Boston is every marathoner's dream. I try to qualify but, well, it's hard... These fraudsters mock the effort of thousands of us trying to shave just a few more minutes, just a few, to get the glorious BQ.

I can't imagine what the fraudsters think they gain.

I'll never qualify for it. I'm not fast enough. My first marathon was very slow and I sure my next one will be too.

But I know people that work their asses off to qualify.

These people should be disqualified for life.
