About time, I refuse to say the pledge at school every day until they remove it. I get a lot of flak for it, but damn it I'm standing up for my convictions.
I always wondered if Southerners were put off by the pledge. As originally written it's very Unionist: "one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"...
Seems like a hardcore states rights Old Southerner wouldn't be able to recite that. Maybe "One nation under God" softens the offensive passage a little.
Well, the day may come when the moslems will be forcing you to say 'under allah', or be beheaded. Hmm! I don't think having the freedom to choose to say 'under God' is all that bad, come to think 'bout it. Christ people, you live in America, what once was the greatest nation on earth and you're slowly losing your rights and freedoms, and STILL you bitch and whine. Maybe you actually DO need to find out how good you've got it, when it's gone.
