For a church that believes that we will one day be gods, why are Mormons and the way the church is run so plain-Jane, conservative, mind-numbing and BORING? If this life is supposed to prepare us to be gods, why are we taught to always follow and seek approval from church leaders, thus resulting in poor self-confidence (something that I personally still suffer from to this day, but it's getting better)?

Just one more thing that makes the Cult of Mormonism that much more laughable. =p

why are they supposed to just shut down their brains and play follow the leader their entire lives?

I would at least expect a god to be an independent entity...not a stooge.

..."In order to be a good leader, you first have to be a good follower." It was total bullshit, of course. Following only teaches you how to follow.

But the part of LDS godhood people forget is that Elohim is a god because he is perfectly obedient, and if he ever failed to be obedient, he would cease to be a god. So even though he's a god, he still answers to someone or something (eternal law) else. He's still following. Forever and ever and ever and ever...

But Mormonism is boring because it chases away the imaginative people because they don't conform. All that's left are people who think their dullness is a virtue.

Boring meetings, consulting the handbook, passing the buck, worrying about the rules instead of what's right or what works..... A world, and gawd built on conformity, and lack of innovation. An eternal Edsel factory. TSCC says they make good people better, but they just turn them into the best sheeple tithepayers in the world.
