Would you say the people of Joseph Smith's time were more or less credulous than our day?
Surely the story of a boy translating a collection of ancient writings by doing nothing more than looking at a rock would be met with disbelief by a vast majority of people in the 21st century.
was that true in joseph's day? christ's day?
because someone today claiming to be the son of god is likely to be considered a loon. probably with good cause.
i'm just wondering what the ratio of skeptics to believers has been throughout the ages. because it takes very little critical thinking skills to think that looking at a rock yields anything.
