The add picture of the family being traumatized by the movie.
Mom gets to see the whole thing while husband only gets one eye full, and the poor kid gets butter in his hair. The guy behind the father is enjoying the movie.

From the article:

In front of more than 4,000 youth at the 2014 RootsTech
conference in Salt Lake City this past February, Elder Neil L.
Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued a
challenge: “My challenge for you is to prepare as many names for
the temple as you perform baptisms in the temple.”

I am proud to say I have met Elder Andersen's challenge:

Number of temple baptisms performed in past decade: 0
Number of names prepared for the temple in past decade: 0

Im sure there is some young well intentioned overly zealous youth who at this very moment is lifting names off of the vietnam veterans memorial or taking a stroll through a local cemetary. Why not bring the latest copy of the phone book to the temple. What I want to know is if there is a sticker incentive program like in elementary school

"Much of the heavy lifting in hastening the work of salvation for both the living and the dead will be done by you young people." ~ Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Seriously, how stupid does this sound?

"...hastening the work of salvation for...the dead..."

They are dead. What is the rush? Is the end coming? So a few thousand out of millions upon millions get "saved."

Math makes so much more sense.

It sounds as crazy as my next door TBM neighbor talking about Ancesty.com and the new number of "hints" that he has to do his temple work during Testimony meeting yesterday. He said he he had 12,000 hints from England! I wonder what's the odds of name recycling here!!??

Just enter your name and accept the challenge, so . . of course I did.

They are up to . . . 289 !!! I sense that the world will change it's ways and realize the truth of the one true church any moment now.

Can you put more than one name on the challenge from a computer or a cell phone? Stuff like Bart Simpson would prank call?does it ask for email?

actually no.

Just asks for "first name" and then you click "accept"

I just entered "Thomas S. Monson" and "Fanny Alger" and improved their stats by 2 (hope they thank me)

Hi Everybody!

Interestingly enough, 289 is the Dewey decimal number for Mormonism.

TSCC is messing up the kids more and more. I want to cry sometimes at the changes I see in my nieces and nephews. They are becoming morgbots and are no longer the confident, creative, free thinking, and fun individuals that they once were. They personalities are being squashed by TSCC. It seriously does make me want to cry.

This is a perfect system! The youth don't have to do anything hard, such as actually talk to people about TSCC because then they would get exposed to facts contrary to the propaganda.

People on this board have been predicting that as the number of converts fall, the more emphasis there will be on work for the dead, who apparently don't have access to google yet.

I remember reading in my great grandmother's journal that she had accomplished all the temple work for her family so none of us had to worry about it. She seemed pleased no one, including herself needed to ever go back after their first time.

I'm glad my 2 younger kids have bailed out!

My son is way over 18 - no mission - no M-Penishood -

My daughter has not been to YW in years - we found her old "personal progress" book in the back of our old car the other day and threw it in the trash at the car wash!

Guess what - both are great students, lots of friends, not freaks... Happy kids. Gee, I guess you don't need the cult to raise good kids after all.

As of this morning, they are up to 541! I guess today's youth have better things to do or have to support their family from a job etc....
