Close friend was in a wreck. Turned a 4 wheeler over on himself. Will be spending part of the day visiting him in the hospital.

Looks like my husband probably broke something in his foot, so we'll be off to urgent care here in a bit.
Still way better than going to church!

Bike ride - 15 miles in rolling hill country on rural forest roads with no painted lines. My route has 900 vertical feet of climbing and I expect to average about 14 mph.

Now that I am retired and a widow, I live a very simple, quiet, calm life.
Every day is very much like any other day.
I take care of my basic needs, then I am free to play on the computer, read, watch TV, do my projects, make and take calls, go out, etc.

Nursing my new tattoo and thinking really passive aggressive thoughts about a certain "friend" and board contributor who thinks his perky posterior drops gold bricks and sings arias when he feels a movement pass through his cheeks.

He knows who he is.

Very nice options from nothing up to what ever...

Just knowing I can take a nap here at home, instead of priesthood, is priceless.

The very best thing is I finally have zero guilt...I can go to the store and not feel like Jesus is waiting to kick me in the groin, so to speak.

Sweat! Oh my

Sitting around enjoying my new air conditioner. It's 90 and humid outside! I also went to the store without guilt. Can't buy beer on Sunday in this Kentucky town, but I'm stocked up. I might have a couple later. It's nice to have a day when I can do anything I want. Even if it's nothing!

Slept in after a wonderful night at Obon festival. Soccer today.

I love my Kuerig. I also bought a foamer from Starbucks, so good to added to my coffee or to make steamers.

I also bought vanilla and hazelnut flavoring from Starbucks.

Btw: Costco has snapple iced tea for kuerig (peach, raspberry, lemon)

It's my dad's birthday, so my brother and I are taking him out to dinner. This morning, I slept in, and read the paper while drinking my coffee. I also got to watch the World Cup finals and I'm happy for Germany.

I worked for a few hours this morning then went to the grocery store with my dad to pick out a few things that we needed for the next few days. Came home, took a shower, played on the computer for a while and then made a salad for diner and did some yoga. Now I am going to spend some time playing on the computer and enjoying the next two days off from work.

I bought some beverages at Wal Mart, and the heat just about floored me as I crossed the parking lot. When it gets to about 100 degrees F, I get nauseous and feverish. Thank man for air conditioning. My Hyundai has a chilly AC system. Mmmm...

The Northern California interior is a bitch-goddess. She favors you with beautiful weather other than July and August. Those are the two punishment months here. The end of June and the beginning of September are very hot as well. So it's about nine months of mild weather (including winter, when tennis shoes are enough footwear), and then it's three months of atonement heat.

Going home! Two years and the project is done. No more oil patch for at least 2 months I hope. All the tithing money they want will be well spent on a nice holiday somewhere.

Discussed John D., Kate K., and the usual other stuff: polygamy, polyandry, Monson's dementia, Packer's nuttiness, mass exodus and resignations, financial issues including the 'for profit/non-profit' arms of the church, the irony of a 'corporation' masquerading as a church.
