MIL update...good news!

Since I confronted her, things have been fine...

She is respecting boundaries and we still converse and laugh.

We had a really good time tonight too..

I don't know why I waited so long. My MIL is the only person I waited to be open and honest with. All of my friends, family and co-workers know me as someone who speaks his mind when bothered and addresses issues when they arise...and I get along with all of them! I respect differences as long as I'm not being attacked. I shouldn't have waited so long with her.

Like I said, she has great qualities and I love her, but I just needed to stand up for myself...

Great news, Lost Mystic. Love really is kind, long-suffering, etc. From the first time you said you loved your MIL, I thought your prospects were pretty good.

So few SILs can say that--you are fortunate to have real affection there.
