I wish I had a good punchline for that subject header...

I've been watching a very interesting, respectful debate/forum between Rabbi Harold Kushner, Reverend Peter Gomes and Atheist Christopher Hitchens. All three are articulate and interesting to listen to. It's long, but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something to listen to as they eat dinner...

As an aside, I think it would be interesting to have a Mormon on the panel... If only for comparison. The two Theists speak about religion (and the virtue/necessity of it) in a very broad way. I think a Mormon would feel compelled to speak more concretely (perhaps to their embarrassment) about things like authority, prophets and revelation...

are seated together in a falling airplane. "I have prayed to Jesus for our safety," says the reverend. "And I to God," says the rabbi. "Your prayers are noble," says the atheist, "gave me time to find the parachute."

A reverend, a rabbi and an atheist walk into a bar.

"What is this?" said the bartender, "Some kind of joke?"
