The church owns 107 acres that they want the City of Layton (about 40 miles north of Salt Lake) to rezone, changing it from agricultural to village center zone. Seems like the residents of Layton are mostly against this. The ariticle doesn't say who is going to develop the property, just that the church owns it and is pushing for the rezoning. Getting it rezoned is an important first step in developing the property. It will also greatly increase the market value of the land.

How many times can the church be involved in for profit real estate projects before even tried and true members start to wake up to the real nature of the church?
