Professional sports glorifies stereotypical versions of men as much as the fashion/beauty industry does to women. In addition, the business of sports is built on a pyramid of young, broken bodies.

I'm a tennis fanatic. And I watch a lot of footage of "legends" matches on youtube. Guys like Andre Agassi and his peers. They are by no means old, mostly in their 40s, and their bodies are totally broken down. Very sad. Specifically Agassi. That guy hobbles around like he's 75. Last night I watched a match with Michael Stich, Wimbledon champ from the 90s, they guy has two braces running all the way up his legs. Even current players. Look at Nadal. That guy is being held together by wraps and bandages all over.

The fame and riches and glory just ain't worth it.

Well this has been a wake call for me.

I realize now that I when I asked my boy toy for his car keys and then tossed them on the ground in front of him and told him to pick them up so I could see his arse that I was being a sexist pig. Oh, dear I feel so terrible. I also felt terrible when I did it a second time. The third time he caught on, damn it! So, I got a new boy toy.
