Oh, you asked what our favorite MORMON dessert is. Not just our favorite dessert.

That's simple - green jello!

What else could it be?

I am willing to come clean about my unhealthy love of fruit cocktail cake. Will that admission get me banned from this forum? ;-)

Wait! I do not like cool whip though. Am I redeemed?

Catnip - I think this might be the recipe you're looking for.

California Orange Cake:

Cake:
1 box cake mix (yellow, white, or orange)
1 can Mandarin oranges (don't drain the juice)
3 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Mix above ingredients well and pour into a greased and floured 9'x13' pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes,

Topping:
1 large can crushed pineapple (don't drain juice)
1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 9-ounce carton Cool Whip

Mix above ingredients and spread over cooled cake. Keep cake refrigerated.
