Is Oaks just trying to redefine the churches long-term stand that the priesthood will save the constitution? We can not defend the Constitution with wheat, right?

David O. McKay:

"Next to being one in worshiping God, there is nothing in this world in which this Church should be more united than in upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States. If members of the Melchizedek Priesthood allow the U.S. Constitution to be destroyed, they not only forfeit their rights to the Priesthood, but to a place in this highest degree of glory as well."

Dallin H Oaks:

LDS apostle Dallin H. Oaks cautioned Mormons against joining or supporting "right-wing groups who mistakenly apply prophecies about the last days to promote efforts to form paramilitary or other organizations." Such groups could "undermine the authority of public officials ... in the event of extraordinary emergencies or even in cases of simple disagreement with government policy." Latter-day Saints should not "substitute [their] own organizations for the political and military authorities put in place by constitutional government and processes," After all, the LDS Church’s food-storage program is about amassing a year’s supply of food and water, Oaks reminded the thousands watching in the giant arena, not "arms and ammunition."

Well considering that Oaks is working with MORmONS can you really blame him? I mean there might be some real wisdom in this counsel of his .... for a change ..... at least for him....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5tD5a9k8Wo

just pay your *tithing* bow your head and say BAAAAAAHHH!
this is how Oaks really wants the MORmON flock to act

LDS INC is ticked off about this, that Money was supposed to go to LDS INC headquarters, not to a local MORmON scam artist!

You've gotta be shitt!n me. They want you to have a years supply of food, and yet no guns or ammo. If I ever needed to use a years supply of food that would be when the government collapses and anarchy reigns. You better believe those roving bands of cannibals are not only coming for your food, but your tasty thighs as well

When anarchy reigns they will first go for the Mormons because they have food and no guns. If you are a Mormon and have no food, they will kill you anyway for pissing them off.

The threat I see is Oaks infringing on the 2nd Amendment "not arms and ammunition".

Sounds like their years of crazy talk has run out all of the rational people, and now Mr. Oaks is stuck with a bunch of Bircher, Glenn Beck disciples. It's his own dashed fault.

The brethren finally have the pyscho right wing nutcase organization that they always wanted. And now all he can do is complaint. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

He's just upset because he realized that while the church owns lots of canneries, they don't have one bullet mill or gun factory, and since the Browning family all apostatized, they are not making any tithing off of those sells. Should probably get to work on that.

Rev Moon, allegedly, owned an armaments factory, maybe they can buy that one now that he is not using it?

Disarming the brethren will make them a lot easier to handle, when things get primitive. The Danites's jobs will be easier with all the little morg sheep disarmed.

Once public utilities failed, the urban population of the UT morridor will die off really quickly - cholera, first; typhus; yersinia pestus (bubonic and pneumonic plague); salmonella; hantavirus hemorrhagic fever; ebola (which, may or may not, be communicable via airborne vectors; I tend to think it is); and just about every other BL4 pathogen they've got stashed out at Dugway or at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Montana. Most of the GAs are old enough they, probably, couldn't last more than a year without prescription meds and hospitals.

If the GAs and other royalties are still hanging out in their condos at City Creek, they'll be gone inside of 6 months. Hanta is no respecter of second anointings. Won't matter who has the firearms. It would be every man for himself.

In five years, we will all be riding in chariots pulled by tapirs...

I want a wooden submarine, not a chariot with tapirs.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa, there David! You do know there are other countries, yes? That there are MP holders all over the fucking planet, right? Your blather would make no sense to those of us from or born outside the USA. We'd still have that godawful priesthood and still get to the highest degree of glory on our own thankyouverymuch. Those who call Mormonism "The American Religion" are right. This whole church-state connection is nsane. LDS leaders are so insular in their thinking!

Again, falling further and further away from their original teachings. Mormons wanted to leave the US, doctrinally they have taught that Israel needs and army- Mormon milita anyone? Joseph and his army? Making their own uniforms, money and alphabet? They are becoming more mainstream every day, they are not peculiar people anymore, they are trying to portray themselves as average joes that love America...I am a totally cool guy with tattoos that is not white, works on motorcycles, and I am a Mormon- campaign...they believe in the constitution, then they should not imply that they want to infringe on the second amendment.

Personally, my doomsday preparation kit would include, 1 leather pair of chaps, one leather jacket with the sleeves cut off. A sawed off double barrow shotgun, a motorcycle, bottle of whiskey, and a dog of unknown pedigree. From all the post-apocalypse research I have done, the guy with all of these always comes out ahead.
