Yes, the movie is interrupted while the penalties of death are performed. So, sorry, no record of it on film. But I sure did it enough times to remember it.
If you don't believe it just ask anyone who got their endowments before 1989 (it might have continued even later but that's the last time I remember seeing them). Those that did it won't forget it.
Personally, I felt the throat-slitting and disemboweling were some of the most endearing parts of the pre-1990 ceremony. I felt so good after experiencing that.
