Henry B. Eyring will probably burst into tears during one of his talks.
I reckon there might be some reference to the difficult questions about mormonism too, since it's a fast growing issue in the church. It's difficult to believe, but remember a few years ago Jeffrey R. Holland talked about Solomon Spaulding and Ethan Smith in General Conference.
There'll also be talks in reference to the feminist movement due to the Kate Kelly situation (although they won't directly mention Kate obviously). I also suspect more women might give talks this time.
Talks about how wonderful women are, how many wonderful missionaries there are, and how blessed you'll be for paying tithing, and how you should give more to other funds on that yellow slip.
As evidenced by recent Conferences, particularly the one just 5 months ago, the Brethren are MAD, MAD, MAD. Things aren't generally going their way so they can barely contain their contempt...
Avoid "anti" material on the internet...it's all half-truths and lies!!! Holland will cry and pound his fists about something. Scott will put hypnotize everyone with his bland delivery and staring directly at the camera. Boyd will crap his pants.
Is General Con. is different from General Relief Society Meeting. Or what's the difference?
I was invited to a GRSM in 2009, by my TBM neighbor. There was a Mormon Tabernacle Choir...
I agreed to go with her but later on I realized that she lied to me about the length of the time that we were supposed to be there! She told me that it was only going to be 2 hours maybe 3. But when we finally got out of the building it was at least 5-6 hours later....Besides of being so P/O'd, that was the most boring thing I've ever attended in my whole life....Also, the most memorable thing for me was this...I was the only one wearing a black slack pants. Everyone else were either wearing dress or skirt! Ohhhhh, the looked that I got from women that was there was priceless. It wasn't done on purpose, I just didn't know what I was getting into!
-Avoid Anti Material and "Doubt your Doubts" -Some stupid catch phrase for Mormons to repost a thousand times in different ways all over Facebook and twitter only hours after it was said. -Pay Tithing - The dangers of the world, how these are the last days, and other bullshit trying to scare members -Some really amped up talk about how Satan is going to try and steal your testimony, how you need to stay close to the gospel, how other non mormons or exmormons or less active mormons may seem happy but they aren't, and do whatever you possibly can to bring them back. - Sneakily use "Meet the Mormons" and other sneaky, sneaky ways on Facebook, Twitter, etc to get people to attend or come back to church again. -Talk about the roles of women and how special they are, how dangerous is it to go against "inspired" leaders, and and lies about how wonderful it is to be a woman and how they don't need the priesthood. How they are leaders where they are, in visiting teaching, to other women...blah, blah, blah...Dumb. - Dangers of porn and the need for repentance - How the church is growing rapidly and the missionaries are bringing in thousands of converts (tell stories from missionaries and how they love their mission, how they converted someone miraculously) - New temples in places that bring the most revenue and of course real estate in some foreign country - Monson at the end giving a calm talk about how all is well in Zion but giving absolutely no new revelation (surprise, surprise)
However, the church is not in the habit of changing those kinds of issues with public fanfare. The issues will slowly and simply change and be put into effect over time. Members will be happy, and new members will never know of the old way. And we'll be evil, negative, apostate liars if we say how it used to be.
One General Authority (from the 70s) will give his talk in Spanish. Maybe two! The General Authorities may now deliver their talks in their native tongue. Uchtdorf won't say his in German though. But this might be more of a road to focusing on the Spanish speaking- and other countries where baptisms are on a rise?
Things will be said. Praises will be heard! Miracles will happen. Stay the course. Lengthen your stride. Pay your tithing, and obey your leaders. This is the way. In the holy name of our Saviour, even our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.
I am guessing alot of, its not too late, but it could be soon type of talks. I feel they are going to avoid the hell out of the Kate Kelly issue. They hardly have touched it anyways and it seems most TBM'S are at peace that they know the mormon fems or "apostates". I dont know why but i feel this conference will be as bland and boring as it can gets. We could always hope for a alzheimers moment from Monson and he spills the beans about the apostate concentration camps in florida. Lol
I've heard they are going to let the speakers speak in their native language (with English subtitles). So, according to one commenter, Bednar's talks will be in parseltongue and Packer's will be in the black language of Mordor...
Don't trust science for any answers. It is only useful in "hastening the work". TV, computers, smart phones, tablets, Internet, search engines, data bases are all for Gods purpose. Too bad about the evil, there must be opposition in all things.
1. Talk by a female about how blessed they are not to have the burden of the priesthood.
2. Talk about attending the temple at least once a mont (meaning you are a tithe payer = $$$$).
3. Talk about the blessings of paying tithing ($$$$$)
4. Talk in Spanish that no one will listen to on TV or the radio, and won't spend the time reading subtitles on TV (unless the person served a Spanish mission and want to see if they can still understand the language).
5. Talk about family values [code for one man and one woman marriage] and the blessings of a temple marriage [= temple worthy family members =$$$$$$]
6. Another talk by a female about how women and especially teen girls need to dress modestly.
7. Talk of hastening the work, doing genealogy, and taking names to the temple [=$$$$$$$$$]
8. Talk about every member being a missionary and the need to recruit your neighbors [= $$$$$]
9. And the highlight will be Bednar's talk making famous the phrase "keep the blinders on." He will talk about the evils of the world, including porn, liberals, intellectuals, and anti-mormons. He will compare the members to race horses, and how they "need to keep the blinders on" and run the good race only looking straight ahead and avoiding looking at those evil horses running beside them.
