A copy of this was leaked but is part of Bednar's upcoming talk he will deliver at General Conference.

Dear Brothers and Sisters I come to you today to talk to you about the evils of the world. Every direction that a good Saint turns they are faced with dilemmas and choices about how to "run the good race." They are faced with the evils of porn on a daily basis as it pops up on their computer screen, is seen on TV commercials and bi*lboards promoting stores selling lingerie, and even walking down the street as they see "walking pornography" of women and girls dressed immodestly showing bare shoulders.

We see it in the persecution that the Church faces on a daily basis, as anti-mormons spout the lies of the Adversary under his tutelage.

We see it in the so-called intellectuals who think they know more than our leaders and Prophet, yes, even Thomas S. Monson, in what is right for society.

We see it in liberalism that is destroying our Society in accepting same-sex marriage and supporting health care for everyone.

At the beginning of this talk I mentioned "running the good race." As every horse trainer knows, sometimes it is necessary to "put on the blinders" so that the horse cannot see what is happening around him, and can concentrate on running his own race. In that way, many a race horse has become a champion.

I encourage all Latter Day Saints to "put on the blinders" to the evil around them that is tempting them from running their best race. "Put on the blinders" so that you may concentrate on building up the Church. "Put on the blinders" and you too may become a champion and find yourself in the winner's circle that leads to blessings from Heavenly Father and eternal life.

Nice one scarecrow, but I think it is a little too plausible. It sounds like it is a recycled talk from decades ago. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard it while I was a TBM. I certainly heard things to that effect.

That's a pretty toned-down first draft, methinks.

Elder Butthead will likely take this to another level from the GC pulpit as he is prompted by the spirit of the moment......his own.

God what a dickface.

Scarecrow from Oz, I didn't know you used to ghost-write conference talks.

We will know, for sure, that TSCC officials read this board, when they steal your "blinders" idea.

You certainly captured the essence of what he will likely say.

There was an Apostle's talk that leaked pre-GC a few years back, and the actual talk ended up quite different (although still had resemblance to the leaked version so it was obviously a real leak). But that whole situation showed that they must thoroughly revise them.

Sadly and shockingly, just like the "doubt your doubts" talk, Mormons would probably proudly and excitedly parrot the "put on your blinders" line if this ended up being a general conference talk.

"There might be information about the church's history or other points of view, but for me, I'm going to "put on my blinders' as our dear apostle Elder Bednar instructs us to."...as ex-Mormon does a face palm.

It scares me to think how I would easily have swallowed that not that long ago...

We know how much he loves those spiritual analogies. Remember the pickle!
