Truly, I can't see what the point of having someone they exed nine years ago return to their fold. They have made no effort for years.

Ran into a former BP whom said: "You can always repent and return," and just why would I do that?

What have I missed in nine years? Toilet-scrubbing duty, foul smelling jute walls in the hallways, watered-down doctrine, a lay ministry whom knows I exist (I live in a very small town), but hasn't made contact, a never-ending gossip mill, invasive home- and visiting-teachers .....

Did I leave anything out?

Tell him "as you are, I once was. As I am, you may become." Smile and walk away.

I told him I enjoyed being a member of another church which ended the conversation.

I have been away from Mormonism for way too long. I don't have fond memories of it.

Tell him you are studying to become a servant that is leading people out of the cult of Mormonism and that the CESletter.com has been revealed to the world.

You told us what he said to you.

What did you say to him?

He must think he has something you would want and he only wants you to repent and return. That's not so hard for something you want.

My response would be "repent from what?"....and/or "maybe you, sir should be the one doing the repenting for continuing to perpetrate a fraud". I'd pay good money to watch that exchange.

Give the Bp a copy of "Profiles of a Prophet" by Hugh Brown (1955), which has recently (6/06) been re-published in the Ensign....

ask him: How does TSM (or ANY of the 15) fit in this?

"I'd pay good money to watch that exchange."

I'll come back when the church provides full financial disclosure or hell freezes over. Which ever occurs first.

Notice the insult, the judgmentalism. It is assumed by this
former BP of yours that you have need to "repent."

Another good response could be, "Thank you MR. (not "Bishop" or
"Brother") Formerbish, for reminding me why I'm glad I'm out of
your cult."

I would respond, "You kick me out and now you want me back? That's so middle school."
