I was excommunicated in 1993 for apostasy. I have since been re-baptized 2013 and have never felt so happy. I implore you all to reconsider.

God works in mysterious ways and his ways are bizarre. I have since rekindled my testimony in the book of mormon and the restored truth.

I have been where you all are. I lost my marriage in 1993 and it took 20 years. I spent many years going to exmo gatherings and posting under "anon".

Just wanted to let you all know.

God works in mysterious ways? What god? I've searched high and low and I've yet to find a god.

define your case of "apostasy". listening to punk rock and seeing R rated movies doesn't count.

Is this for real? I'm just curious, if so then how in the world did you get past all the doubt and inconsistencies? seriously, that doesn't seem possible to me. Although I wish it were, things would be so much easier for me here in Mordor.

I'm confused. God? Don't you mean "Heavenly Father?" And you believe in the Book of Mormon but don't bother to use upper case? You've rekindled your testimony, but you don't bear it? And no mention of the Saviour?

Hmmm...

I know this is a troll, but let's pretend it isn't.
Assuming someone could believe, then see the truth as it's shown here, then say "Naaahh - the BOM is true after all" and go back; how is that our problem?
If someone is moved to return to the LDS, first, why are they here, and second, how does it harm us? Unless they're in our family, or our close friend, why not say "Good luck, and we'll be here if you come back"?
How are we being harmed (other than the gumming up the board with troll posts, which Susan is apparently all over)?
I'm not trolling, I'm genuinely interested in why anyone here would care.

Please try to be a bit more creative and inventive. I don't like to find myself yawning when I visit a thread labeled with the ***TROLLING**** disclaimer.

Now go pay your tithing and do as you are told.

I'm curious. I want to hear your story of re-conversion. It may be important to hear the de-conversion story from '93 too. If you're willing, please share what made you leave with the pertinent details, and the same with what you back.

Sincerely interested,
DP

I didn't leave in spite of my testimony, as in choosing to reject the "spirit". I left because of my testimony. It was internally paradoxical, objectively subjective, and it collapsed under its own weight. Same with the BoM. I realized it was wrong in itself. I didn't think it was right then got dissuaded by "anti". It too, collapsed under its own weight. Your testimony is subjective. It's yours not mine.

It's interesting how one of their sockpuppets "cokebottle" makes a lame attack on them, probably in order to "establish a relationship of trust" with us. Then later, when they come around and see calors point of view, it is probably meant to have a strong effect on us.
