That one family was murdered, with the exception of the one girl who played dead, and the miracle is that she survived. Nobody asks why God didn't go for the bigger miracle and save the whole TBM family.
My God. My son's best friend is on his mission in Buenos Aires. He is like my own!! One of the best kids - people - I have ever known. He and my son have been insanely close. All the years of friendship - NO prosetlyzing, no conflict. This kid took my son's side when other momos would start in. He is due home in Feb. I can't bear to think about how things are destabilizing down there.
The countries are a dangerous place.I know of instances of being robbed in a hair salon, pick pocketed, etc. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. Doubtful anyone is caught either.
Five days after the robbery involving President Robertson, the U.S. Embassy warned Americans living in and traveling to Argentina about a recent increase in criminal activity including "express kidnappings".
How convenient: express line for that too.
The security message said Americans should avoid demonstrations and maintain a high level of vigilance.
Demonstrations? of repentance?
The embassy said it did not have evidence that Americans are being targeted specifically.
Just successful looking American men with cars and wallets and computers and cash.
Put kids in suit and tie, send them door to door to talk to strangers. Make sure they have a cell phone, lap top computer, shiny new bike, and some shiny new shoes.
