I am a convert to Judaism...but I--personally--didn't come from Mormonism.

(However...there are VERY deep Mormon roots in my family.)

I can trace Jewish ancestors, but it ain't gonna happen.

1. I believe in Jesus...kinda makes that problematic

2. They as dysfunctional as Mormons

3, and very important, I am attached to my foreskin.

Personally speaking, I'd prefer to keep every centimeter I'm working withmj

My brother quit going to church like around age 9. He was 32 or so and got married to a New Jersey Jewish girl. Their Jewishness was strictly a family tribe thing as the reception had scenes like right out of a Woody Allen film - guys wearing yarmulkes while eating shrimp cocktails. So my bro nominally converted to Judaism and they had a full on eastern seaboard Jewish wedding.

A few months after that a nice elderly lady called my house and my wife answered. Sister Church asked if we were related to XXXX and where did he now live. My wife answered, 'Oh yes, he's related but he's not a member of the church anymore. He converted to Judaism and married a Jewish woman.'

Dead stunned silence on the other end for some seconds, then Sister Church blurts out, "That's TERRIBLE!" Without skipping a beat wife says, that, no, it's wonderful and they're very happy together. Goodbye. Never heard from 50 E North Temple again.

Have not converted but now attend the UU church which meets in a Jewish Temple. We are sensitive to the temple rules and enjoy the sharing of their beautiful facility. It allows us more funds for our social programs toward hunger, homeliness, etc.
