I had two beers last night while sitting home waiting for trick-or-treaters so I'm probably going to lay off for tonight. It'll be a rum and coke if I change my mind though. I usually don't have more than a drink or two a week - sometimes not even that - but it's been one of those weeks so I want to leave my rum and coke options open.

I was just talking to Eric's DW and she brought that up. It has been YEARS since I have had one but that sounds good. Next time we go to Degenerate Central (state liquor store) I am going to get me some of that!

I get the citrus rum because it takes like a lime Coke, which I also really like. I think it's better than a regular rum and Coke but if you don't like Coke with lime or Pepsi with a lemon slice or similar drinks, you'd probably prefer regular rum.

I almost always drink Franzia's Crisp White. Not too dry, not too sweet.

However, I'm watching some children right now, so iced water for now. :)

A Gin and Tonic in the bath. I think I'm good to go for a while. I hope, and think, I'll have a beer (cider?) And movies later, listening to radio_football. A cool November day just after hello-ween.

I have one beer in the fridge and it's been sitting there for three weeks since I discovered my diabetes. I haven't sworn off, but wanted to see how well I could stabilize things without the added interference of alcohol. I'll probably drink it tonight to celebrate losing 6 pounds and getting my glucose down.

Rationalist, good luck with the weight loss. That's doing my diabetes the world of good. They told me to reduce my medication as a result of losing weight.

By the way, alcohol helps take your blood sugar down.

Now that's good news! I suspect my favorite type of beer might be an exeption, though. Murky, malty Belgian Wheat beer.

Wheat is good for you, so that's cool.

By the way, that's why they recommend limiting alcohol intake if you are on some diabetes medication, in case it takes your blood sugar down too low.

Tonight we (my DW who is also a poster here) watched the extra material from the same movie and had some more Cabernet. This is a very creative love story in my opinion. Tomorrow we will have some more Cab and the next night . . .

Yuk. I have tap water that comes from the Kentucky river and is then heavily chlorinated. It leaves strange black deposits in the sink and toilet. I filter it first, but drink it anyway.

Unsweetened ice tea. But may need to switch to hot, it is getting cold in MN. My feet have not warmed up since I got home from hockey.

WINE! But more importantly, wine with my daughter who lives in Southern California, the one I rarely get to see. (She swims in the ocean with Great White Sharks and undertows.)

Tomorrow we're going WINE tasting here in WINE country. No sharks!

Shocktop. Was looking for their honeycrisp apple but couldn't find it. Got a twelve pack cause it was on sale. I'll have probably six tonight, six tomorrow. Good weekend.

chai tea.
I love it. I usually prefer the decaf blend cause it's not as tart, but when made right it's delicious either caf or decaf.

It's the middle of the work week here...

...PLUS: prep is underway for a major book convention November 12 (leave very early for set-up) through November 16 (load out...which will be until late)...and the convention will be a couple of hours (or so, could be more) away depending on traffic.

Some days I will be driving both ways...other days, my partner will be staying overnight...and we're still not sure of the exact schedule or logistics. But packing prep is now well underway at our warehouse...and prep has to take place after his day job each day.

So tonight, for me: Yogi (brand) Egyptian Licorice herb tea, which the package says is: "Warming and Naturally Spicy -Sweet," and this is actually true!!! I don't know if any Egyptians ever drank it...but it's good!!! :D
