Please state the year you left tssc.

It might be a sample from which the numbers of members leaving the church can be extrapolated and estimated.

(I'm a never-mo but the ancestor who plunked the family down in the middle of Utah left in 1870)

Back n' forth a few times because church was a deeply negative experience, but I never questioned the actual veracity. I mean, Mommy took me to church when I was a child. Why would my mother raise me in a cult?!

Finally realized it was all a made up con and haven't set foot in a mormon church since 2011

After Gordo turned me down for a mission I never a saw the inside of a chapel again ..... til the next funeral, anyway.

Made it official in 1990 beating out the Bensons by a year :o)

My TBM wife and two other daughters are now in the process of resigning this week 2014.

Any reasonably minded person, upon hearing about Fanny and Helen Mars, will leave that God forsaken cult. I mean c'mon mormons. Do you really think God would command a prophet to marry the wives of other still-living men, and have sex with them? Would he really command him to marry a little girl, and have sex with her? C'mon. It's all bullshiz and you know it.

A bright summer day, 2007: After I retired to a nearby wood, a man on a flaming pie appeared and told me he thought the LDS church was probably bunk.

A bright summer day, 2007: After retiring to a nearby wood to ponder whether the LDS church was bunk, God (or Nephi) (or Moroni) appeared to me in flaming glory. Indicating with his right hand a freshly baked peach pie, the personage declared, "The LDS church is bunk! Or looks like it, anyway."

A bright summer day, 2007: Having studied the testimonies of many enlightened people on Recovery from Mormonism, I retired to a nearby wood to Inquire of the Lord God about what the hell I should do about it. I saw a bright light overhead--brighter even than the goddamn noon-day sun--and smelled the freshness of an apple pie, right out of the oven. Two personages appeared overhead, both eating of pie. One of them, indicating the other with his hand full of pie, declared, "Listen to this man! He'll tell you that the LDS church is bunk. So are all the others. Join none of them!"

The experience drained me of energy. I returned to my home and collapsed in bed. I did ponder this experience for three months, during which time I did join the Presbyterians, but only for their Christmas music. And because the music pastor did play all manner of bagpipes, including the sweet Northumbrian pipes, and--even better--the Uilleann pipes.

On Dec. 7, 2007--a day that will live in infamy--I did write a 21-page letter to friends and family explaining my exit from the LDS church at the soonest possibility. People were mostly like, "Meh."

Having recently returned to the United States after a 2.5 year commitment overseas, I did write an exit letter to Greg Dodge and did submit it on Jan. 1, 2009.
