I've hung out here for a few years, mostly just reading. Sometimes posting under different user names. If I told you who I was, you'd know of me. You'd know my "accomplishments" - for lack of a better term - among the LDS culture. However, for the time being, out in the open like this, I am choosing to lay low.
I got my letter yesterday informing me my name has been officially removed from the records of the church and I just wanted to express it among those who understand the significance.
A friend asked me how I felt... Truthfully, no different than just not going; the only difference was, I took away their power, or perceived power, over me: to track me down, to try to talk to me, or even discipline me. That was the most important thing in removing my name.
Thanks to everyone here and this site...
