I'm sipping what could be called Mormon Trailer Park Thunderbird. It's a Wal Mart brand soda that comes in half-size cans, and it's called Dr. Thunder. Of course it's a cheap imitation of Dr. Pepper, itself a champagne for corrupt local sheriffs.
I'm drinking green tea and reading "Bomb" by Steve Sheinkin, it's a great middle school level book about the race to build and steal the atom bomb. It's wonderful, so much history!
I'm drinking the cheap stuff ($11) and saving the delicious wines I bought (a Pinot and a dry Gewürztraminer) while wine tasting with my daughter (a couple weeks ago on Westside Road) for Thanksgiving dinner (parenthetically speaking).
Note to smo: Very high priced wine is always related to limited availability and not necessarily quality.

Well, the daughter I went wine tasting with favors her father and she is quite lovely. With the youngest it's like looking at a 40 year old photograph of myself.
(and thank you for the compliment, matt)

I made some Limoncello way back in June. It's been sitting and mellowing since then. Tonight we will be trying it out. I love that stuff. Summer in a bottle.
There a a ton of different recipes online. I chose one that used meyer lemons, and sat in a glass jar for about 6 months.
The one I made was a bottle of everclear, 16 lemons (yellow peel only, not pith). Let it sit for about 6 months. Add a simple syrup to taste. I used about 1 quart water 3 cups of sugar. You can make it sweeter, or not. I will let that sit until at least Christmas. Tonight was simple syrup night, so I have to taste it. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it.
When it's where I like it, I bottle it up and keep it in the freezer. I like the bottles with the swing tops on them. I give a few away as Christmas gifts, the rest stays in the freezer for summer.
This was not a relief society project. However, it is a product that would bring much relief to a lot of societies.

I just bought a bottle of Sheridan's Coffee Layered Liquer while on a cruise. It's 2 bottles melded together--one bottle has a cream and the other has the coffee liquer. When you pour, the two mix in the class. So, that's on my list.
Or, I also bought Crown Royal Maple, so maybe I'll try that.
Or, I could have apricot brandy and 7 Up.
Or limeade and vodka.
Or "adult" chocolate milk made with Ghiradelli Chocolate Liquer.
