I live in the Charleston area. I had been attending the mt. pleasant ward in south carolina for some time now. I recently left because it is a cult.

I remember we were having a discussion in priesthood session and the bishop and young men's president assured me I have the aaronic priesthood and the ministry of angels. I offered to call down am angel and they were all shocked. They said I needed faith. I told them I have enough faith. They ended the meeting.

Several months after that, I left the church.

Mormonism at its core doctrine is insanity.

RIP Charleston

Mormons say "have faith". Someone has FAITH it FREAKS a Mormon out. Because, as a Mormon, a person's POWER, which includes faith, hope and charity, is stripped from them through a carefully orchestrated evil.

I didn't know what faith was until I left tMc.

Faith is - complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

"I offered to call down am angel and they were all shocked. They said I needed faith. I told them I have enough, faith. They ended the meeting."

That's funny, and sad!!

Good didn't, but the meeting probably needed to end...

How dare you actually try and test your faith!

They know that if you do, you'll find none of the promises ever work. So they don't want you to test it. And they'll criticize you for even suggesting it.

I had a good friend who used to say "The consensus of idiots is idiocy".

Says a lot about Mormonism, doesn't it?

Ha. Ha ha ha ha ha . . . .ha! That's all I have to say. Great story to brighten my day. Clarity brings me happiness even when it belongs to other people.

Sign seekers shall not be shown signs.

Or, the George Carlin version:

"Sister, if God is so powerful, can he make a rock so big that he himself cannot lift it?"

"God does not have to answer trick questions."

You are about as far from SLC as one can get and still be in the USA.

I live there too. How is the ward there? I drive past the church all the time on the 17. My visitors will probably want to this summer.

Charleston is a nice place. I think Glenn Beck visited Marion square at 2pm today. It was about the prayer vigil for the recent deaths.

I live off 17 (but not quite in Charleston).

This whole thing sucks.

I'm amazed they took him alive. He didn't think it through. I can't imagine living the rest of my days in a South Carolina prison, after having done that. I'd be a warm up for hell (if such a place exists).
