This is true. Say what you want about Packer but you at least wouldnt see him denying official church doctrine on live television.

I can't make up my mind up which is worse, a man who sometimes suspects he's got it wrong but lies about it or another who is so intransigent that he believes he never makes a mistake.

Packer was a coward. He never did go on national TV and answer questions, he never once stood as an apostle in a debate with other great thinkers who disagreed with him, never once risked the "slings and arrows" of those who would call him openly on his bullshit to his face. The man was uncompromising but his talks were always, ALWAYS given in front of throngs of adoring fans who thought he was a mix of God and rockstar. He surrounded himself with sycophantic boot likers because it fed his already poisoned ego.

Funny thing is, after judging homosexuals, it's his turn to be judged and bend over and take what's coming.

It would be awesome if St Peter met him at the gate with a rainbow robe on, and that ultimately Jesus turned out to be gay.
