My daughter has to write an essay for her high school english class, and while she has a good vocabulary, she uses it in, shall we say, odd ways. While technically not incorrest, some of the sentences are....are just strange. I was looking at a youtube video today--

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7920HLmknNQ&feature=related

--that is a mish-mash of defending the BoM language as a little hebrew here, a little egyptian there, piking and choosing what they want to defend the crappy writing style that occasionally hits it right in a certain writng style or language structure.
Anyway, it reminded me of my daughter's essay: a teenage mind writing to try and sound lofty & important. On the video, Brian Stubbs calls it "wonderful awkwardness", a spin if I ever heard one....
