Someone I barely know recently sent me a long hand-written letter with a flyer announcing a series of six local lectures/demonstrations. The flyer had a drawing of a fish about to swallow a hook, with the caption "Have you swallowed the hook?" and beneath that: "Warning! Your children are being brainwashed!"

I chose not to attend the six consecutive evenings, even though they were free and there would be refreshments.

It was sponsored by the local Seventh-Day Adventist churches (we have a lot of them around here).

The baited hook they were referring to was the deceptive theory of Darwinian evolution, which is not only contrary to Scripture, but has also been proven entirely false by Adventist scientists with advanced degrees.

The brainwashing is occurring in the public schools, where your children are being taught this false and wicked idea by atheistic evolutionists, using advance psychological techniques (citing a Wall Street Journal article)

yes, some gullible fools will listen to anything as long as there's an advanced degree behind it.

Of course the advanced degree doesn't mean their right, but that doesn't stop some folks from believing it.
