Not limited to Mormonism, but it is stunning to see the hypocrisy in the leadership at TSCC. The general membership is expected to be honest in all of their dealings, provide full financial disclosure at tithing settlement, etc. The leadership, on the other hand, is exempt from the pesky and lowly burden of trying to be ethical and moral. For example, the blatant lies about the origins of the Book of Mormon, covering up Joe Smith's numerous adulterous relationships, using church funds for MASSIVE real estate investments, running the Orwellian SCMC/Gestapo/thought police, lowering the missionary age in an attempt to trap youth in the church before they have an opportunity to think their way out, and not disclosing how tithes and offerings are used.

The mission statement of TSCC is actually contained in 2 Nephi: "...lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God."

On a positive note they are beginning to be more honest about the BOM and the brown peepstone in the hat. But ya I agree there should be more transparency in finances. Members should have a say in what tithing gets spent on, similar to the episcapols and how they vote on their budget.
