What do you know about the secret "correlation commitee?" Who are these men?

To start things off, I was listening to Daymon Smith podcast about the rise of modern mormonism. And how correlation came to be. As the gospel began to go out from Salt Lake, the bretheren traveled far and away (southern utah) to preach to the Indians. They came away from the experience convinced that these 'Lamanites' "just didn't get it." The Vermont-church just didn't mesh smoothly with Indian culture. Leave-it-to-Beaver-Mormonism had to stay pure as it was about to go forth in the 1950's. How was this to be accomplished? By simplifying all the curriculum to famous (but secret) 72 articles of faith. Mountains of doctrine (now called speculation) was thrown out the window. Books were destroyed. No one was allowed to stray again. Gone were the days of Brigham Young speculation. Polygamy? what's that? Polyandry? never heard of it. Road shows? gone. Swap meets, carnivals, and fundraisers, never again.

The quorum's of 70 were organised with the mission of keeping diverse members in line and correlated. In 1970 all conference talks began to be correlated. Gone were the days of revelation or speaking off the cuff, the lord had said all there was, the scriptures were completed. If the prophet had something to say it has to pass through a correlation committee before being announced. Mormonism became closed and really boring. Staying on the 72 topic became the mark of righteousness. Mormons no longer needed to question things and seek out the mysteries like the pioneers would have done. Strong opinions and intense discussions were no longer valued.

It is rumored that correlation consists of only 2-3 Utah born COB employees, non GA's, with numerous CES employees under them. They have even more doctrinal power than the big 15? Who are these men? Do they control the temples and businesses as well?
