Re the FL shooting and LA Gay Pride: Discussion of current events is usually discouraged for various reasons. Sometimes we make exceptions. Re the shooting in FL, condolences and personal reflections (eg: PapaKen's comment) are acceptable but please avoid politics (includes US elections past and present and the topic of gun control). Please also avoid extreme generalizations against specific groups, races, religions (a good rule of thumb for any topic, any day). All these are highly likely to get your post deleted.
And yes, it can be tough to be 100% consistent with the mod calls and/or to appear that way to non-mods. We try our best.
Please observe this important board rule today, and every day, to assist the mods in running the board according to one of its main purposes, giving answers and providing support to people questioning and leaving Mormonism.
Thanks for your cooperation.
ETA:
1. Eric has asked that we stick to the topic of Mormonism now.
2. Please read above and follow it in your postings.
3. If your post contains gross generalizations about an entire race, religion, nationality, etc it will be removed due to being unfair and potentially incendiary.
4. Discussions of gun control are political. References to the current US political scene, including candidates' names and current administration policies, are all political and will be removed.
5. Requests or references to funding must go through Eric. Please contact Admin via email prior to posting information or requests related to funding.
Please stay on topic, be basically rational in your commentary, and help your moderators maintain an informative and supportive board on the main topic.
Thanks again.
