It's only ten pages long...

The short version: No one you know is going to enjoy this book.

I read it and thought it was okay. I have read better books but it kept my interest. It did have its flaws and improbable plot devices though.

From the Ex-mo point of view, wasn't part of what kept you reading your curiosity regarding what the author was up to?

Definitely. The mystery was okay, but I have read better and two unrelated missing people from the same neighborhood was a bit much. I also wanted to know more about Samuel and the other kids and what their issues were. She kind of left that hanging.Oh, yeah, the swat team scene was dumb. She would have been better off dealing with the missing wife, the issues her sons were having and forgetting about the rest of the extraneous subplots.

I read the book today, Elder OldDog, and wrote a review for Amazon.

Your review is brilliant. I agree with all your observations. I wish I had written something this extensive and funny for Amazon.

Essentially, I said that the fiction is mediocre but that the "Insider's View" of Mormonism almost amounts to a kind of exposure. I mean, she does a good job of revealing the whack job that is Mormonism.

I think your girl friend has alot of good common sense. Bravo to

you for the extraordinarily good review, which I'm willing to bet

was lots better than the book itself. Welcome to RFM OldDog. Its

been a pleasure to read you.

Seriously, the pleasure has been all yours.......

But that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Would you consider putting your review up on Amazon?

There are several reviews, but none has the punch yours does.

Three things inhibit me:

1. It gives away all the plot twists and I don't want to be a big ol' Spoiler,

2. I have mixed emotions about the author's current "path" and I wasn't complimentary. My general POV is that if you took my money, I get to be honest about what you sold me, and screw you if you don't like it I don't have that feeling right now. ...Stupid crippling patriarchal upbringing... I felt good writing it and I've put it out to the people I care about.

3. My Amazon account is in my full, legal name. Last thing in the world I want is my real identity revealed! That would really complicate my life as a super hero!

Ok, elderolddog:

Makes sense.

I loved your review! So at least I got to experience it right here on RfM.

I hope I'm not being presumptuous, but we seem to be like-minded in a few ways. I, for one, enjoy a well-written, scathing review (when it's deserved). For (hopefully) your reading pleasure, Dawg, I submit Rex Reed's review of the latest Jurassic World

http://observer.com/2018/06/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-movie-review-please-just-stop/

Completely unrelated to LDS, of course. Oh, well.

Incidentally, my true name derives from two Anglo-Saxon roots, "runne/'runt,'" (little one, suckling, child of, whelp) and "vulf/wulf/wolf," meaning, combined, "child or offspring of/from a wolf." So perhaps we have some mystic kinship? At any rate, it explains why I'm regarded by many as a sonofabitch!

I prefer the Cary Grant Loretta Young version. David Nevin is perfect as the bishop. Dudley’s Boner.

And there's no equal for Cary Grant.

Folks, tuck this movie,"The Bishop's Wife," in your memory bank, and look for it next Christmas time. Even the most insistent atheists will love it.

My most favorite Christmas movie. And most people have never heard of it.
