Out of 35 democratic countries surveyed about their level of acceptance of the theory of evolution, the US came in at #34. They would have come in dead last if it were not for Turkey, a 3rd World country, not unlike Mexico, only Muslim. Mexico is not even on the list, remarkably, neither are any other South American or Central American countries.
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/08/060810-evolution_2.html

In the most stupid democracy in the world (besides a 3rd world Muslim country, which barely counts) the most stupid states are all the most religious (red) states.

https://whyevolutionistrue.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/evolution-and-religion-by-state.jpg?w=566&h=835

And the red states not only make the rest of us Americans look stupid, they're getting more stupid as time passes.

http://www.pewforum.org/2013/12/30/publics-views-on-human-evolution/

Of the most stupid religions, Mormonism is the most stupid, besides the JW's, who don't count, they're so delusional.

http://www.pewforum.org/2009/02/04/religious-differences-on-the-question-of-evolution/

Despite their claims to have sole possession of the Holy Ghost, the 3rd Member of the Godhead, and that the glory of God is intelligence, not a single Mormon in 190 years has earned a Nobel Prize in any field. Jews who make up the same percentage of the population, by comparison, have earned 20% of the Nobel Prizes. Muslims have won Nobel Prizes, yet not a single prize has gone to a Mormon. Why is that?
Is it because in order to be on a Nobel Prize committee, you have to be intelligent enough to do the math required to figure out Joseph's Myth doesn't add up?

Is it a coincidence that the two dumbest religions knock on doors the most?

Being stupid AND annoying is no way to go through life.

out there going door to door and flooding the internet to get established. it establishes itself over time, as the old bogus myths are debunked and end up where they belong, on the dustheap of time, along with all the other bogus myths.
Thing is Joseph's Myth isn't just bogus, it's dangerous.
It's an abusive doomsday sex cult.

No, Mormons are not the most stupid people on Earth...
Do you think for a moment what you write?
Any of you have been in Utah, ever?
Or perhaps you lived in a most jaded are of corridor did not have chance to see the rest of Utah, like..say...Park City or Moab....

What is the difference of a believing Mormon from a Catholic or a JW...or any gullible believing people?

I lived in Utah most of my life...The greatest...the best real Estate on the planet,..Give me time & my FJ Cruiser..there's no place I cannot go..
And you are worried about stupid Mormons? How many of them molested you?

For that matter...most of the Planet's population is stupid, useless and depend on other 20% to survive...

Yes and I back up what I say with evidence.
Where's yours?
Oh I live there. It's the greatest state in the Union!!!
You're probably part of the problem if you think Mormons are more intelligent than the statistics prove.

Too many times, in fact. I'll not waste another minute there. The stupidest part of my family lives in St. George. They moved there on purpose, eschewing the liberal evils of California. Their health is admittedly excellent. They have perfect immunity to science and the arts.

It seems like a bit of hyperbole to state that the u.s. is the most stupid country on earth when the list you use only includes democratic countries, and the u.s. isn't even at the bottom of that list (although you may argue it is close enough). However, I think your use of a single metric to determine the intelligence of a country to be particularly fallacious.

Yeah, like I said, "Turkey doesn't count". I've been to Turkey. It's like Mexico, only Muslim, not Catholic.
And by 'stupid' I mean, in denial of reality, as revealed by science. Denying evolution is real is pretty GD stupid in my book.
People who deny it ought to be allowed to suffer when their wisdom teeth get impacted because they no longer chew on roots and raw food like their Neanderthal ancestors. People who don't accept evolution ought to be allowed to suffer the consequences of having a burst apendix, because they don't eat as many raw foods as their Homo Sapien Idaltu ancestors.

Don't forget, evangelical Christians are also evolution-denying young-earth creationists -- as are Muslims. Mormons by no means have the market cornered on stupid.

Evangelicals and Muslims are not nearly as stupid (in denial of reality, aka, delusional) as Mormons.
But still more stupid than the average (stupid) American, which puts them in the running for most stupid democracy on the planet.

Oh WoW...I'm impressed..
Now write an observation about Blacks & Mexicans...
Why do they live in poverty.

What kinda mentally deranged person singles out; Mormons in whole or any population becaue of their belief, color or gender?

I have many TBM's in my family....Scientists, Educators...smartest people one can meet..

They are no different than believing Catholics, who eat the body of zombie Jesus week after week...Literally.....
And you are bitching about Mormons who are stupidest...

Well, I have to hand it to you; you are in RFM and our subject is stupid Mormons....

That probably says more about your intelligence or lack thereof or mental state than anything. Oh and if you have not noticed, there's a black man in the White House you bigot!

Are the mormons stupid? (imbecile or inbred).
Probably so but no more than any other segment of society.....

Did you even bother clicking on the links that prove just the opposite of what you just said?
Mormons are twice as stupid (delusional) as the average (stupid) American.

When did belief in evolution become a litmus test for stupidity? You're looking for ways to validate your own narrow-minded convictions. If you want to look at things holistically -- ie, WITHOUT a proxy that can be chosen to justify your bigotry, the US comes in squarely in the middle of the pack, and Utah comes in squarely in the middle of the US.

Some statistics for you:
http://www.oecd.org/pisa/keyfindings/PISA-2012-results-US.pdf
The US ranks between 23 and 27 out of 34 of OECD countries. Not the worst. Bottom third, perhaps, but far from 'worst.'

And here's Utah, 21st in math:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/11/state-education-rankings-_n_894528.html

Close to a quarter of people in the US believe in reincarnation. Most of them are not Christian or creationists:

https://notendur.hi.is//~erlendur/english/Nordic_Psychology_erlhar06.pdf

You've selected a narrow litmus test and categorically declared Utah to be 'stupid' on its basis, while ignoring actual measures of intelligence as standardized by organizations whose sole purpose to to accurately measure intelligence.

Evolution is an observed fact. Facts don't require "belief."
The theory that explains how the observed fact of evolution works is itself based on hundreds of millions of observed facts. Once again, "belief" isn't required.

Acceptance of facts is a matter of knowledge, not "belief." You seem to have missed the point :)

It's always a bit sad to see people who claim they'll abandon the US if such-and-such party or person comes into power. It's also an amazing leap of hyperbole to label anything in the US as a "theocracy." Tell me about your life as a woman or a gay person in Iran, then try to tell me about what living in a theocracy is really like.

Our freedom of speech is likely at the core of the numbers behind the belief in evolution. And rather than vilifying it, we should celebrate it. It demonstrates that we have the strength and commitment as a nation to allow all contrary ideas to contend in the arena of ideas.

As an example, some among the scientific community today are seeking to muzzle climate change skeptics. I wonder how different the landscape would be on that topic today if the same forces had been successful during the 1970's when global cooling was gaining momentum in the scientific community.

So, let's battle it out and vigorously debate issues. But let's avoid the error of believing anybody should be excluded from the table. Our greatest strides as a country have often come as a result of our disagreements. Labeling contrary ideas as "stupid" is a convenient way to dismiss opposing thought without having to muster an actual intellectual response.

Although Turkey is a Muslim country, it is secular, and fights to stay that way. It has great beaches, great food, and I saw the most stunning woman of my life there. My father in law, Peter Priesthood shadowed her down the beach for fifteen minutes.

It is interesting, that "The Saints" brag about being educated, but areas where they dominate politically, they spend the least amount of money on their schools. It is OK, if you teach at a church school, to scream and yell about taxes being wasted on public schools, while you live off tithing, and live like a prince.

"The Church" is nothing but a socialist-relgious machine that bends over the "common" member, but turns certain castes into elite status.

So, should those born with vestigial tails be forced to keep them, too, if they don't believe in evolution? That would look pretty funny. Maybe they could alter their pants to have a little hole in them to accommodate it. It would be ironic.

Well, as far as the US, I'd prefer "ignorant" rather than "stupid." The former can be fixed with education. The latter is essentially permanent.

Largely (but not completely) that applies to mormons, as well. The vast majority are even ignorant about their own church, its history, and it's official 'doctrine.'

I'm a pretty well traveled person. I've lived in a few countries too. In my experience neither Mormons, Americans nor the Turkish are the dumbest people in the world. Not by far.

Also, these stats prove nothing. As much as it is a popular notion, a person's opinion on evolution or religion is not a good metric to gauge intelligence. Only a person who literally knows nothing about intelligence, cognition, or assessments would make that mistake.

You want to sound retarded or trying to be funny?
How many Jews are or were ever famous athletes?
They are not idiots, when it comes to business, artistry or any subject of professional field...
Try to disparage them about their religion/faith...
I wouldn't say anything but comparing them the rest of the world;
They excel much more than you disparage them.

Mormonism and others are designed so that the "meek (but mighty for The Lord)" will inherit the earth. And they are doing well.
