I've been reading this for a few weeks but this is my first time posting. I'll post more some day but I have to go to work soon.

My wife and I emailed on Sunday to resign our membership in the church. I look forward to meeting many of you on here.

welcome!

My life is better for many reasons since my resignation. 2015 will have it's challenges but you'll be glad you resigned.

Breathe deeply...a great weight was just removed from around your neck.

I'm so glad you and your wife left together. It doesn't always happen that way. You're both very lucky in that respect. Congrats, and i'm happy for you. Welcome to life.

Glad you can join our club - it is a terrific club that you will love the benefits it provides which are owning yourself and your thoughts. A rainbow of many colors await your discovery.

How sweet is it that you can resign so easily by emailing?! Years ago mine involved much more and I even sent the letter by registered mail to know that it had been received by the church/cult.

Welcome!

I consider RfM a 24 hour house party. Strangers smashed in together with one thing in common, escaping the mob. Money, time, kid-napping, extortion, threats... Someone here will always understand, having lived through something similar, or who have similar family members.

There is always an intellectual conversation happening in the den, naughty jokes and laughter in the kitchen, drinking at the mini-bar, crying in the bathroom, scripture chasing on the deck, history lectures in the patio, fighting in the garage, off topic in the rec room, hippies in the backyard, existentialist conversations in the Jacuzzi, etc. (Any group you're looking for, or start your own.)

Good luck on your journey!

be prepared from some of your family or 'friends'.

'church friends' aren't really friends, tho, Most are of a different breed & temperament.

I find myself addicted to reading all sorts of exmo stuff online. I'm not sure why. Tomorrow I'm going to sit and write out my whole story.

Misery loves company. Fellow sufferers make unhappiness easier to bear.
Words to this effect appeared in the work of Sophocles (c. 408 b.c.) and other ancient writers; the earliest recorded use in English was about 1349.

Welcome to the exmo-aholic club ;)

Don't worry, the addiction normally wears off after 5 to 50 years.

japheth,

Did you write your story yet? Please let us know. Many of us don't check the exit stories very frequently. Good luck!
