I didn't think they were real. I wasn't about to have some old geezer who barely knew me tell me things about my life, which I knew was false. So I balked. Any time people would ask if I had had one, I would politely tell them that I didn't think I was ready for one. I think I may have even lied about having one once or twice just to avoid criticism.

I refused mine also. Being female, what was the point of playing that charade? Plus, being female, nobody was ever interested enough to bother asking-since nothing interesting was mentioned in female blessings by the fortune teller, um, patriarch.
