That's what they told me to do in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Were you allowed to eat anything for a few days before your endowment? I DID NOT EAT. I was fucking dizzy and lightheaded. They told me not to eat.

It's like a colonoscopy...
Painful and embarrassing.

Or they were just afraid you'd vomit if you'd eaten after having to swallow such BS...?

I can only imagine the horror my wife would have felt should I have subjected her to the temple (she's Catholic and would have divorced me if I'd tried to convert her BTW). She's have said "fuck this" and walked out.

Nude isn't Lewd.

Take Care, Stay Bare.

If god(s) intended us to be nude, we would have been BORN THAT WAY...

Sooner or later we're all naked in front of a doctor or nurse, so who cares?
Nowadays there's even people who consider nursing a child "inappropriate".
WTF? Is ANYTHING more natural than feeding a hungry child?

I only consider it a bit odd when the child can hold a conversation with you between sucks.

After the supreme leaders told me not to eat for a while, and after they took me a great building, and after they told me to take my clothes off, then, a stranger starts putting oil near my ..... and rubs oil

Ironic that the same leaders that want to see you naked in the temple, now make you pay them for garments to cover up your nakedness.

I couldn't help but think this was looking just like the visit I'd had with the Gynecologist a few days before. I decided if they told me to get on a table, I was done and out of there. I was on high alert when the old lady was touching me. One wrong move and she would have gotten slapped. In hind sight I only put up with what I did because I was so young/naive/ and unprepared.

If i'd of known ahead of time how my wedding day was going to be, I would have opted out. That was never my idea of a beautiful wedding day. It was more like the beginning of a horrendous two year long nightmare. The only good thing I can say is that I didn't have any children. That would have really added to that nightmare big time.

As it was, I got out when I was 20. No babies in tow. I moved on and haven't seen nor talked to that creep since then.

My exact story, Janis, only I lasted only 14 months.

Thank God for birth control! I used three different kinds, at once--not recommended--but I was not going to have a child for him to use as a punching bag. I never had any contact with him again, but the church had me married to him for 35 years, until I finally resigned.

The whole temple marriage experience was awful! The naked touching and the death oaths should have given us a clue--but the Mormons guarded the secrets, and ambushed us with the element of surprise--well, more like horror, than surprise.

We were deliberately kept in the dark.

It's a satanic cult.

I found one of those "shields" modeled in an online video. It was a porn video, which I found hilariously appropriate. Especially after having seen what it actually looked like.

On another level, it is truly remarkable that more people weren't put off by the naked touching in the temple. They did that for so long!

Actually, breastfeeding is not natural.

They don't dare mention one word about this in their temple prep class or else they would lose all the future attendees. Again, it's better to keep everyone in the dark because it's too sacred.

Nothing good ever happens when this command doesn't have your consent first. Doctors of the soul think they are more entitled than actual doctors in getting you to bare your soul and other parts to them.

I remember that moment in the temple too. "Take off all your clothes and put on these garments."

My radar went off at that moment, but it was my wedding day and I didn't want any problems.

After that, (not eating for a day or so and you are dizzy and lightheaded and other things), you pantomime disemboweling and/or slashing your your throat. OH GOD. PAY LAY ALE.

They put the garments on for me after the washing and anointing.

I was one of the few "lucky" ones. I'm extremely over the top modest. Always have been, always will be. It is just my personality. It was beyond shocking to me when I did baptisms for the dead and the old bitch ladies in the temple wouldn't give me a towel until I gave them the soaking wet baptism whatever it is. (We've discussed this before on RfM). It was very disturbing to me or shall we say traumatic. Something I had to put on the shelf.

So I was in my 20s, not married yet, and a divorced friend of mine, who had never been through the temple, told me a group of women she was in a play with were talking about having to get naked in the temple. This was about the time the Logan temple was redone back in the 1970s. Both this friend and I were sickened and I HAD TO KNOW THE TRUTH. I told my older sister that she had to tell me because if I didn't have some idea what they were talking about, I was leaving the church THEN. She told me about it and at least I didn't have the element of surprise most people have.

I was shocked to read Richard Packham's experience with W&A from back in the 1950s, which is when my parents went through. This is just so unlike my mother being able to deal with. My dad told me in the years just before he died that the temple was bizarre. He never went back until my sister got married 25 years after his marriage.

The cafeteria inside the temple was closed? Chuck-a-Rama was open?
