You've been through a lot. I hope things improve. That's wonderful that your father listened and validated the issues with the church.

Good for you Crow. What a story! Seems like you were thinking for yourself from a very young age. Wish I could say the same. You sound like you have a great attitude beneath all that has happened. You also sound like you are set up now for a great life with a great husband and child.

Finding out the truth is always the best in the end no matter how it looks in the beginning.

Wishing you all the best and wishing safety for your husband.

I am also happy for your husband that he doesn't have to deal with a Mormon wife. :)

You need a support system of some kind ASAP.

Hi Crow,

Congrads on your your resignation! Welcome to the board, you are not alone here! ;o)

So happy you saw through Mormonism and that you have a supportive DH and a little one! Freedom to live your life is so much better than the assigned fake friends and restrictive boss of Mormonism!

And thanks for reposting imaworkinonit. What resources are available for you on base or nearby? Maybe a mom's group of some kind? Maybe you can find a coven nearby if that calls to you.

In any case - very best good wishes to you in your wise decision!

The two lecture series by John Merriman are my favorite on that channel. Actually downloaded em from iTunes.

It sounds like your father will accept you for who you are. That's a good thing. I hope things work out for you.

How do you feel?

I feel liberated but also anxious. Last night I kept having nightmares that the bishop was standing outside my door, ready to ambush and chastise

Crow,

Really happy for your new freedom. I had a lot of depression and anxiety in the church and right after I left it. But after about a year I started feeling much better and accepting myself for being 'different'. It will be a liberating feeling when you can love and accept yourself without the restrictions of Mormonism. Your health will improve as a natural result.

We're always here for you on the board for the support you need.

Congratulations! You should feel proud of yourself.

It seems since you are having health and transportation issues, you might consider living in military housing. There are other SAHMs there who support each other, or at least socialize.

There are current or former military ex-Mos here who can advise you.

I wish you and your family well and hope your health improves!

I can't. The waiting list is over a year

Sorry to hear that. If the military can't help you, there are state agencies for emergencies, or they might be able to connect you with some other organizations in your area.

Do you have any extended family on either side who can help, or send for you and your child to stay with them? I think you can access military medicine anywhere you go.

I enjoyed your story and found a lot of parallels to my own awakening from the Mormon delusion.
We have a lot of get togethers with other fellow ExMo's in the Puget Sound area. Actually there's dinner/drinks tonight in Tukwilla. Look up Seattle ExMormons on Meetup.com if you're interested in meeting ExMo's like yourself.
