The letter states he has the right to appeal, will he continue the drama?

...and he sure as hell ain't gonna stop talking about the church in public. He'll probably make a career out of counseling Mormons who are losing or have lost their faith. Sounds like a growing field to get into.

Assuming he made a good case in the trial, he should appeal. It puts the FP in the line of fire.

Agree. He should appeal and make the FP go on record.

Maybe they'll answer the horse question.

Or perhaps it will spur a revelation:

My son Thomas, in as much as you have inquired after the heretic, yea even John Dehlin. Behold, I will reveal unto you my mind on this matter, yea even the mind of the Alpha and Omega, the great I am, Elohim, the dude, yea even God. Behold, thus saith the lord unto my servant Thomas, he shall take thy place as leader of this people.

Who knows? Maybe Tommy wants to get out of dodge. Dehlin would be a much more energetic and dynamic presence.

He should appeal, get his membership back, then resign.

I'm not sure, because of the additional emotional strain.

He gave his Best Shot, why would he?

and, the FP won't give the 'pleasure' of writing any remarks/comments, that would be Totally Stupid of them
O wait..

the church revolves around authority & discernment of leaders. If they were to re-visit, that would undercut the local leaders;

has ANY decision to X been reversed by the FP? EVER??

He stated in an interview, I believe with the Salt Lake Tribune, last month that if he was excommunicated he didn't plan on appealing, but that he reserved the right to change his mind.

In my opinion, it would be a lesson in futility unless he saw it has a chance for continued press coverage regarding those causes he promotes.

Do black people join the KKK?
Honestly, I agree with the his feelings about the church, but he really should stay on the outside of the tent and piss in.

I hope he requests that the brethren consult Joseph Smith's peep stone (that they are known to have.) I say you are not out until God speaks through the magic rock.
