By & large, the appeal of religion is almost 100% emotional.
On the average, with many exceptions, women's choices-decisions, & actions are more emotionally based then mens; I would be First in line to agree this difference, at least in industrialized cultures, is slowly changing, I perceive less of a difference now than 20 - 30 years ago. Undeniably, modern women are markedly more educated, more assertive.
That doesn't fit the LDS model.
Individuals, especially women, are systematicly DISTRACTED away from the essentials, the basics, of Christ-Like living.
The focus suggested, almost strictly enforced, is appearance & conformance to the patriarchal model.
The LDS Church unapoloigectially (sp?!) dictates to women the most minute details for them to conform to:
-apply ... Wait for it... Lipstick!
-HOW LARGE, HOW MANY EARRINGS!
-Bare shoulders? Porn!
Add bullying to achieve conformance-compliance, and the Direct Result is a women (Not All!) who will Transfer this intimidation to their spouses likewise regarding insignificant items-details of day-to-day life.
Conformity in appearance...drove me crazy and eventually out. Not to mention Isaiah in the BOM...BOA...and a list of others too numerous for one finger typing on my I phone. Just the thoughts of Jewish submarines is enough..
