Congratulations. I believe there were 11 series and more than 250 shows. Love all the characters. Always hits the spot for me.

Was it popular with mormons with Sam's male chauvinism and Norm and Cliff's drinking?

Frasier, Woody with Shelley Long and Kirstie Alley are great.

That was in the '80's, I guess. I was such an uptight TBM, I didn't want to be made impure by watching a show in which there was drinking, and sexual innuendo. I did know Mormons who liked it, but I considered it beneath me. I yielded to temptation, and watched it a few times, but I don't remember much about it.

And thanks to you Brits for the Office UK. One of my all time

favorites. I just wish it would have lasted for more than two

seasons.

Thanks for that. To keep Cheers funny for 11 years is a real Tour de Force.

I LOVED the Brittish Office. Some of those loons could have worked at my office. Yes, thank you!

And, thank you for Earl Gray tea with bergamot, which I am sipping on this chilly, rainy Oregon morning. =)

I always enjoyed Cheers, as it was an honest attempt to portray the human condition. Boston is noť my milleau, but I always liked the show because it attempted to portray a certain time/place that we could always identify with in some way.

Woody: Hey Mr. Peterson, there’s a cold one waiting for you.

Norm: I know. If she calls, I’m not here.

Woody: "Kamikaze pilots....the stories they could tell."

I also quote Norm when people ask me "what's shakin'"? "Four cheeks and a jowl".

I was always fond of this one:

"It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear."

I was a pretty young kid when Cheers premiered but I watched it all the time. I didn't start understanding it till I was older but for some reason even when I was young I always liked it. I am not sure why my parents let me watch it, being Mormons and all. They were pretty lax.

One of my favorite programs. Always liked the friction between Sam and Dianne, Carla.

My local was similar to the bar in Cheers, because everyone did know your name and there was a mix of clientèle.

We had a journalist (me!) a couple of lawyers, a teacher, a psychiatrist, a postman, an accountant, a builder, several businessmen and women and a bus driver.

I forget if it was Norm or Cliff who said this but one of my fave lines was "women. Can't live with them; pass the beer nuts"

I didn't watch it when it originally aired since I was just a kid and I wasn't interested in it.

But as an adult I noticed the re-runs and thought the show was funny. The "Bar Wars" episodes are my favorites.
