No joke, while playing words with friends today I got the following letters.... "bmorm[]n". Creepy!

Paul Bettner was one of the creators of Words with Friends and somebody named him as being Mormon, but I couldn't verify that.

If he IS, that might have something to do with it - somehow.

he sold it to zynga a few years ago. He lives a block away from me. He has a completely different gaming company called playfull.

I am good friends with his wife as we went to high school together and our siblings dated as well. He is a convert. They are awesome,outspoken, liberal mormons. They are kate kelly supporters. I think they know that my wife and I have left, but we don't really discuss it much. They are really good people and seem to be NOM's. I don't know how much they really "believe" in the traditional mormon sense.

Anyhoo, your words with friends thing seems to be an odd coincidence.

I agree. Eventually I will talk to them about why they are still in, but our communication with most Mormons has dwindled since we left. We have been busy with our new life so I haven't given much thought as to why they remain in the church.

But I personally am glad they are in it because they completely challenge mormon stereotypes and they force the other members to accept things outside of the cookie cutter mormon universe. This in my mind is a good thing. I just don't have the patience to do that and I enjoy not being around Mormons. They bothered me even when I was one.

I quit playing Words With Friends a year or so ago, when an old friend told me she thought I was cheating. We're no longer friends!

However, I still have on my home computer a screen shot of my best word of all time: aviatrix.

Over double and triple words and the X was on a triple letter, it was worth 161 points.

My best friend just met and hooked up with a girl he met on words with friends..

I was like "wtf?" Of all the places to meet chicks, he scored on words with friends..
