Why does the connection to the database on exmormon.org keep failing?

This keeps happening, esp. in the last few days. I have a very stable internet connection, no problems on other sites, just exmormon.org. It appears to be random, but will sometimes repeat itself several times in a row and I'll have to shut the window and go back in several hours later. What's up?

I've heard before that the problem usually originates at the point of where the servers are physically that run this site. If the power goes out in the building, the service goes down.

Is this site hosted by a commercial enterprise or is the server in someone's spare bedroom? Just curious. I know I have to realize that the server can be as small as a laptop or as big as a refrigerator.

It happened on a Sunday morning (yesterday) for hours.

Could be whoever manages it is a Sabbath observer?

I am, but mine falls on Saturday. :)

I believe that it is a local ISP provider with several local firms as clients. And RFM, with its stunningly large number of visitors!

We have had problems over the past several days. The database automatically rebuilds if there is a problem - it takes a few minutes.

The larger issue was our virtual server - it crashed. Sorry I have been out of town.

I figured some Mormons took the sacrament then logged on to RfM on their Smarty-pants phones at church... God will not be mocked!

Although it seems elder old dog is ready to be crucified for all sins in order for the rest of us to maintain a Wi-Fi connection...
