BlackKlansmen & the handshakes

I was watching BlackKlansmen (movie) the other night --I was shocked when after the 'white' policeman (undercover) actor-Adam Driver joins the Klan and in their initiation with David Duke, where they are all wearing their traditional robes give each other a very familiar handshake (known to temple Mormons-if I remember 'sure sign of the nail').
