I recall a founding salesman who bore his testimony about Mona-Vie in a 2013 Sacrament meeting. He was reprimanded, but still you can view it on YouTube.
"The lawsuit was filed on behalf of employees who were part of the ESOP [employee stock ownership program]. The proposed class action lawsuit says MonaVie principals sold shares valued at $186 million to an ESOP they had created in 2010 but that the company shares quickly fell nearly 100 percent in value."
The scammers keep on going in Utah. Unfortunately innocent people are hurt. Greed is often the starting point for innocent people hoping for easy money and the scammers take advantage of church membership or affinity fraud with the promise of wealth.
for fastest growing companies in Utah, just a couple of years ago. MonaVie took one of the top awards. I think a couple of the other top 5 awards went to multi-level marketing companies as well.
It's amazing to me how quickly these companies rise and fall in Utah. At the time I predicted they would disappear quickly, based only on the type of business they are. Meanwhile, the company I attended with continues to grow, but more slowly.
When will people learn that you can't build a reliable business based on pumping individuals to buy stuff from you, and then selling it to their friends, who also live in your insular (Mormon) network?
