Being Memorial Day Weekend, my mother went to the cemetery to plant flowers at my father's grave. As expected, there were several others doing the same.

My mother heard a loud exclamation behind her: "No, thank you. I am a Methodist!"

Then two ladies walked up to my kneeling mother whose hands were covered with dirt. They identified themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses and they wanted to say a prayer for my mother at my father's grave.

My mother got up and took one of the ladies' hand and thanked her mimicking what she heard from the other lady, and said that she was Catholic. The JW lady was a bit peeved because my mother's hand was caked with mud and the lady's hand was then dirty and nothing to clean if with.

What's with these people to bother others of all places in a cemetery!

"Oh, my, no prayers. My husband Eddie talks to me regularly. He's in hell, don't cha know, and he quite likes it. Don't want to change a thing.

Today is his birthday, so if you'd sing a chorus of "Happy Birthday", I'm sure he'd appreciate it."

Then just sit back and watch their little JW heads explode.

6 months after my dad died I got a "Sorry to hear about your father...you don't know me, but. here's something that might help..."

I thought it might be from an old, old friend of his but a JW pamphlet fell out, and I was pissed.

I should have written back and told them they should me ashamed.

My father in law died in October and a couple of weeks later my mil received an anonymous cowardly propaganda letter of sympathy from a JW.
I threw the letter in my knapsack and the next time I went downtown, I hunted down the street corner JW.
I gave them the letter back, told them it wasn't requested, didn't belong to us, and it was a cruel thing to send to a grieving widow. They were stunned into silence.#goodtimes
