Warning: You might need some insulin after reading this syrupy, sugary crap.

Why can't the Deseret News write real stories about the non-miracles in the Mormon World. e.g. The missionaries that are killed out in the mission field. The stalwart Mormons who are raped and then have to face the fact that their special miracle priesthood didn't protect; or worse the whole blame the victims.

Example: The Hobson family, "(Josh) He also suffered a crisis of faith. The Hobsons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

According to court documents, Josh ”placed a(n) (LDS) blessing on his home before he deployed so it could be ’a place where the spirit of Christ dwells, a place of peace and a place of comfort’ and also blessed his family so they would be protected in his absence.“

After the assault, Josh felt “betrayed by [his] Heavenly Father,” court documents say, and he stopped going to church. Josh told attorneys that the assault made him feel toward Ali that “he didn’t have a right to be sexually attracted to her anymore, because it wasn’t fair that someone had forced themselves onto her.”

”When this happened, my attitude to everything changed,“ Josh said.

And then the church's answer from Richard Scott, " At some point in time, however, the Lord may prompt a victim to recognize a degree of responsibility for abuse. Your priesthood leader will help assess your responsibility so that, if needed, it can be addressed. Otherwise the seeds of guilt will remain and sprout into bitter fruit. Yet no matter what degree of responsibility, from absolutely none to increasing consent, the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ can provide a complete cure. (See D&C 138:1–4.) Forgiveness can be obtained for all involved in abuse. (See A of F 1:3.) Then comes a restoration of self-respect, self-worth, and a renewal of life."
