That feeling when ~

You think of something you need to write down.

You find a pen.

You find something to write on.

You forgot what you were going to write.

Yep, I could hide my own easter eggs. CRS. And some people, meaning well, suggest making lists like that's an easy solution. If I can remember to make a list I forget to bring it or just don't know where it is.

I don't remember where I read it, but the average American has the attention span of about 15 seconds. Or maybe that was 10 seconds....What were we talking about?

That feeling when ~

You see some paperwork that you need to complete as part of your job.

You complete the paperwork.

You go to place it in your outbox.

You realize that it was an application for a SSM, so you concoct a last resort phony ploy to allow yourself to express your bigotry and hatred by citing a passive aggressive religious objection to submitting the application.

I suppose that didn't really relate to your scenario much, did it. :(

I work for a local ISP.
My forgetfulness is a legend.
People are quite comfortable telling me their passwords.

I just tried to log on to my computer with the password that I used at my job before I retired eight years ago.

The hard part for me is that I want to sit and relax and think something over very deeply, and then I can't remember what I was thinking about.

I scare myself.

what about this? I forget stuff all the time. Then about 3 a.m. I wake up and remember the thing I had forgotten earlier in the day. I hate it when that happens!

I asked my doctor why this was happening, and he said that when we forget what common things are used for, that's when we need to worry.

Uh, oh!

Yeah... My people are long lived. I have asked myself a couple of times, "EOD, do you want to continue living if you should happen to forget how much fun it is to have a penis?"

Sad thing is, living with relatives who've had Alzheimer's, this isn't a funny, funny subject. Wait, it can be funny....

Oh, I mean it is a funny subject on the surface, and there are definite funnies along the way... WHY IS IT always the last place I look that I find my car keys?....

Standing in the doorway... looking out at the street. The kids come up, "Mom what are you doing?" Look down at the kids and can't for the life of yourself remember why you were thinking of going outside, or why you opened the door in the first place! You cover, replying, "Because I love you and was looking JUST FOR YOU!"

But the worst of it is when you have that particular 'word' just right there, right behind your eyeballs, but your brain refuses to put it on your tongue and you just cannot pull it out so you have to find a synonym and then you realize you can't remember what you were trying to say in the first place... WHAT?????

While we're on this subject, have you ever gone through the day, feeling like you're forgetting to do something? Look through your calendars and can't figure it out. Get other things done, only to realize much too late that you HAD forgotten something, something important?

Too many times. And many of them were church related meetings! (like Homemaking, and I was the teacher. Forgot the VT coming over. Forgot to make someone dinner. Forgot choir practice. Young Adult Activities Planning Meeting, etc.) I felt like such a flake, but in reality, I was very over booked!

Do you suppose we got a little too much radiation from Fukushema?
I hope someone way better educated than me will weigh in.

My grandma told me about pens.

She said they used to write on "paper". I think she said they used to buy it from the Egyptians or something.

Why do I keep calling my dog by my son's name? They don't look anything alike.
