I'm not happy about Packer's demise at all! I'm sure that had he

outlived Tommy, as Prophet, Liar, and Regulator, he would have

"hastened the work" of the Church's own demise.

My cynical side says this was no natural causes death. I think Monson is about to kick, which would've put Packer in the top Jazzy Scooter spot. That would be a PR disaster for the church. So, they whacked him before hand.

Oh, it would be great if that were true. That would be the kind of issue that could bring the whole thing down.

However, if we deal with reality, you have a 90 yo who was in ill health who died. He would have been only moderately more visible and influential as the No. 1 guy as opposed to No. 2.

Boyd Packer lived a long life. I hope his family finds comfort in that and also that he is no longer suffering, despite the suffering he caused many members (npi).

Also Packer was the last apostle called from the now defunct position (Assistant to the Quorum). So now the real gambling can begin.

Finally a Mormon who did the right thing. 90 years was just to long to have that pile on our planet. I hope he suffered.

My husband's family will mourn his death (he was a not so distant relative). I breathe a sigh of relief.

Condolences to those who are truly grieving, for those who are relieved, go celebrate! For those of us who don't really care, lets go on with our lives just as we would have had we not learned of his demise.

I kinda wish he would have become profit because that probably would've caused more people to leave the faith.
