I sometimes look at the Community of Christ website and find what they do such a contrast with the Utah Mormons! They have women apostles, a black apostle, an hispanic apostle and even a British apostle! They seem to have taken a more open approach to any problems! I watched a video of their Prophet Steven Veazey being asked questions via, e mail, facebook, twitter etc. One of the Women apostles asked the questions, she said Steve, this is a good question! STEVE, ! Could you imagine Monson doing that in such an informal style! Also i read their letter to members about the supreme court ruling they said, they realised some would be pleased, some dissapointed, but church leaders who agreed with the ruling could conduct same sex marriages in church! Maybe Brigham was the wrong choice after all !

All of it is based on the lie. It matters not which offshoot group from the original early church you choose, they are all wrong because they were false from the get go.

They have evolved from the revelatory religion that JS founded into a Protestant sect that is more open and accepting. LDS, Inc., meanwhile has evolved into a religiously themed corporation that pretends to have a prophet, but who never has revelations.

I agree that the RLDS are founded on lies like the LDS, Inc. branch of Mormonism, but they have moved on while the Brighamites have built a corporate empire on those lies.

CoC is no more a fraud than any other Protestant sect.

I agree but at least the cof c seem a bit more human and approachable

There were two Mormonisms during JS's life. One is the
Mormonism that was practiced in Kirtland and the other was the
secret Mormonism that was practiced in Nauvoo.

The Kirtland Mormonism stressed monogamy and openness. The one
in Nauvoo stressed polygamy and secrecy.

The Nauvoo Mormonism came to Utah where it became a criminal
organization which has since tried to go straight. The Kirtland
Mormonism stayed East and got along fine with everyone.

Yes, the Kirtland church was more open, more on a journey. I think Joseph Smith started to believe his own hype!He took the greatest Prophet stuff too seriously!
